A Story of Resilience: Children Born of Rape Confront Trauma, Rejection, and Healing
More than 20,000 children were born from between 250,000 and 500,000 women who were raped during the 100 days of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Many of these children have faced rejection, trauma, and deep struggles with identity and belonging—yet their lives also reveal powerful journeys of resilience, healing, and what it means to belong as Rwandans.
