President Donald Trump stated that the United States is in “serious discussions” with a “new, and more reasonable, regime” to end military operations in Iran, while threatening the destruction of the country's infrastructure if a deal is not reached.

Through Truth Social account, the President indicated on Tuesday, March 30, that “great progress has been made” on a potential agreement.

However, he warned that if a deal is not “shortly reached” and the Hormuz Strait is not “open for business,” the U.S. will respond by “blowing up and completely obliterating” Iranian “Electric Generating Plants, Oil Wells and Kharg Island.”

Trump added that the military action would include all desalinization plants.

He claimed the U.S. has “purposefully not yet touched” these locations during its current military presence.

The President characterized the proposed strikes as a response to past conflicts involving U.S. personnel.

“This will be in retribution for our many soldiers, and others, that Iran has butchered and killed over the old Regime’s 47 year ‘Reign of Terror,’” Trump wrote.

Trump noted that a deal probably will be reached to end the U.S. military's stay in the country.
