The Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) and Rwanda National Police (RNP) has donated 910 goats and six cows to residents of Kirehe and Kayonza districts on Monday, June 22.

The distribution is part of the Defence and Security Citizen Outreach Programme (DSCOP 2026) aimed at improving community welfare.

The exercise will run throughout the week across several sectors. But the distribution exercise began in Nasho Sector-Kirehe, where 100 goats and two cows were handed over to vulnerable residents, particularly those affected by prolonged drought.

The donation shows the commitment of security organs to address community challenges, according to Kirehe District Vice Mayor for Economic Development Modeste Nzirabatinya.

He noted that the RDF and RNP continue to support socio-economic development alongside their primary role of ensuring security.

The outreach will continue throughout the week in the sectors of Ndego, Mwili, Kabare, and Rwinkwavu.

Beyond livestock, the security forces have provided medical services and water infrastructure to areas in need.

Beneficiary J. Bosco Ndayisenga said the cow he received will provide milk and manure to improve his farm’s production.

Another resident, Marceline Nyirakamanzi, thanked President Paul Kagame for the initiative, stating it reflects the strong bond between the people and the military.

The DSCOP 2026 activities have been running for three months, focusing on environmental protection and infrastructure. The programme will conclude on July 4 as part of the national Liberation Day celebrations.
