Trump Threatens Intense Iran Bombing Over Deal Refusal
President Donald J. Trump warned Wednesday, May 6 that the United States is prepared to launch a “much higher level” of aerial strikes against Iran if the country fails to accept a pending proposal.
The President linked the future of current military operations and the ongoing naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz to Iran's immediate cooperation.
In a social media post, Trump stated that while he is prepared to end the conflict, the burden of proof lies with Tehran.
“Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is, perhaps, a big assumption, the already legendary Epic Fury will be at an end, and the highly effective blockade will allow the Hormuz Strait to be open to all, including Iran,” Trump wrote.
The ultimatum signals a potential escalation in regional tensions.
Trump made clarified that a rejection of the terms would result in a swift and more violent military response than previously seen.
“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before,” the President added.
