In a statement, Rwanda’s Ministry of Defence extended its sympathy to the Ministry of Defence of Djibouti, the late minister’s family, and the people of Djibouti after the passing of H.E. Hassan Omar Mohamed Bourhan.

Rwanda said Bourhan will be remembered for his dedication to public service and his role in strengthening peace, security, and cooperation in the region.

“Hon. Hassan Omar Mohamed Bourhan will be remembered for his distinguished service, unwavering dedication to his nation, and his valuable contribution to advancing peace, security, and regional cooperation,” the ministry added.

The ministry said Rwanda stands with Djibouti during the period of mourning, offering support to the bereaved family and the people of the country.

“During this difficult time, Rwanda stands in solidarity with his family and the people of Djibouti. We share in your grief and extend our sincere sympathies,” the statement said.

The ministry further paid tribute to Bourhan’s legacy, wishing peace for his soul and noting that his contributions would continue to inspire future generations.

“May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his enduring legacy continue to inspire future generations,” the statement concluded.
