US, Iran Agree on 60-Day War Ceasefire Extension
The United States and Iran have reached an agreement on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to extend their ceasefire for 60 days to allow for formal negotiations, White House sources confirmed. However, the high-stakes diplomatic breakthrough remains frozen as U.S. President Donald Trump has yet to give his final approval.
The proposed 60-day truce extension plan is intended to halt active military operations and create a secure environment for both nations to launch structured peace talks.
Despite the agreement among negotiators, a strict public silence blankets both capitals. Both Tehran and Trump have yet to comment on the newly drafted framework.
