President Donald Trump warned Iran to reach a deal ending U.S. and Israeli bombings or keep facing bombing, stating the U.S. will “keep blowing them away” if an agreement is not reached.

During a discourse with Cabinet at the White House on Thursday, March 26, Trump told reporters that Tehran has the opportunity to end nearly four weeks of fighting by halting its nuclear program.

“They now have the chance, that is Iran, to permanently abandon their nuclear ambitions and to join a new path forward,” Trump said. “We'll see if they want to do it. If they don't, we're their worst nightmare. In the meantime, we'll just keep blowing them away.”

The ultimatum follows comments from a senior Iranian official who told Reuters that Washington’s current proposal is “one-sided and unfair.” However, the official noted that diplomacy between the two nations continues.

Trump described Iranian officials as “great negotiators” who are “desperate” to reach a settlement, though Tehran has publicly denied that characterization.

The President said any potential agreement must open the Strait of Hormuz and shut down Tehran's military ambitions.

Trump expressed uncertainty about whether the two sides would reach a final resolution.

“I don't know if we'll be able to do that,” he said regarding the prospects of a deal. “I don't know if we're willing to do that.”
